Development Version

Note: The development version may be unstable.

  • Source is available by anonymous checkout from the SVN (Subversion) repository. This code is current with no lag between the time a developer checks in changes and it is available for checkout. Since this is the live repository, there may be times the code is in an extremely unstable state. The unwritten rule of QGIS development is: "The code in the repository must always compile". Most of the time this is true, however, sometimes things don't quite work out that way. If you are willing to live on the bleeding edge, feel free to use the current code base.

  • Detailed anonymous SVN checkout notes

You can use the following commands to perform an anonymous checkout from the QGIS Subversion repository. Note we recommend checking out the stable branch (unless you are a developer or really HAVE to have the latest changes and dont mind lots of crashing!).

You must have a subversion client installed prior to checking out the code. See the Subversion website for more information. The Links page contains good selection of SVN clients for various platforms.

To check out the current release branch (0.9.1)

    svn co https://svn.osgeo.org/qgis/tags/Release-0_9_1-Final qgis_09_1

To check out SVN unstable head:

    svn co https://svn.osgeo.org/qgis/trunk/qgis qgis_unstable

See the INSTALL file in the source tree for specific instructions on building development versions.

    Viewing the Repository

You can view the repository by pointing your browser at http://svn.osgeo.org/qgis.
