World Mapping

I use it for a private Worldwide-Map project. I try to collect/convert/organize/visualise most of the freely available worldwide datasets from around the globe. I have - already converted to shp format - all the Digital Chart of the World, many vegetation Data in GeoTIFF, elevation Data as DEM's (SRTM30), some SRTM90m Data in HDR Format (this can't be read), and many other vector datasets. Until now I mainly used Windows for this project, but as I'm also a Lniux (at home most of the time) user I was happy to see the appearance of QGIS. And what amazed me most is, how useable it is even in it's eraly ver0.2 stage. Sure, there are many features I'm missing, but I have seen most of them in the project plans. So I'm eagerly avaitnig every new release :-)
And if I had a wish (I can't remember seeing this one in the project plans): relief shading
