FAQ
I get an error about too recent version of Qt Designer - What does this mean?
{mos_sb_discuss:2}This error usually looks something like uic: File generated with too recent version of Qt Designer (3.2 vs. 3.1.2)

This is caused by a developer modifying the user interface file with a version of Designer newer than your version of Qt. This shouldn't happen but when it does it is easily fixed:
1. Open the offending .ui in a text editor
2. Change the first line from:
<!DOCTYPE UI><UI version="3.2" stdsetdef="1">

to:

<!DOCTYPE UI><UI version="3.1" stdsetdef="1">

3. Save it and QGIS should then compile

How do I build QGIS from CVS or the CVS snapshot?
{mos_sb_discuss:2}
  • Checkout the source using anonymous CVS or download the cvs tarball from qgis.org.
  • Once you have the source tree checked out or untarred, run autogen.sh. You can provide arguments to autogen.sh. For example, to configure QGIS to install in /home/me/qgis use:
    • ./autogen.sh -prefix=/home/me/qgis
  • Once configured type make to build QGIS
  • When the build is complete, type make install to install qgis
  •
    << Start < Prev 1 2 Next > End >>
